Benchmarks of the Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 GPU have shown up online. It comes with 8 CUs and outperforms current-gen offerings by a wide margin.

While yesterday’s Exynos 2600 Geekbench results were less than ideal, the SoC has reappeared on the platform, this time with remarkably better scores of 2,810 and 9,301, effectively outperforming the Dimensity 9400. Now, a new set of leaks reveals how the Xclipse 960 GPU performs.

It scores 3,135 points (23.23 FPS) in 3D Mark Steel Nomad Light. It effectively outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Adreno 830 GPU in the test. A Geekbench listing also confirms earlier rumours about its specs, with the Xclipse 960 featuring 4 WGPs (8 CUs). The GPU is heavily throttled, as confirmed by its maximum clock speed of 555 MHz.

Lastly, it is pertinent to note that the Xclipse 960 in question is an engineering sample with a near-unlimited power budget. The retail variant may not be nearly as impressive, although some improvements could be made with stable firmware. Rumour has it that Samsung is developing the GPU in-house in collaboration with a Huawei engineer, effectively making it the first Xclipse-branded GPU to not use AMD RDNA architecture.
