The Seattle Seahawks concluded the public portion of training camp on Tuesday. What stood out from the past three weeks of practice, along with the Aug. 7 preseason opener? Seahawks Radio Network analyst Dave Wyman and Bob Stelton shared their takeaways in the video above.

Here are some highlights from what they said:
• Wyman thinks new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s wide-zone blocking scheme will put the offensive line in a much better position for success.
“I think the scheme itself just creates angles for blockers,” Wyman said. “It’s offensive-line friendly. You saw a couple of times where they kind of had a little bit of a stretch play going and (running back) George Holani just bounced it outside. So they’re using that part of the field much better and they’re getting defenders going sideways. … I really liked what I saw. But they’re gonna have to execute it of course.”
• Stelton didn’t see anything during camp that changed his high expectations for the defense in Year 2 under Mike Macdonald.
“If you look at them in the second half of (last) season, this was a top-five defense in the league,” Stelton said. “So I think the expectation is that’s who they are to start the season. And to this point, just seeing what we’ve seen out here and the level of comfort the players seem to have with it, nothing’s happened to make me think any differently. I really still believe this is gonna be a top-five defense (from) Week 1 on.”
• Wyman continues to be impressed by rookie safety Nick Emmanwori, whose elite athleticism and unique versatility made him one of the more intriguing players in the entire 2025 NFL Draft.
“I have not seen a rookie moment with him,” Wyman said. “Either out at practice or in the game or the mock game, he just makes plays. He never looks like he is off-track in any way, and he’s just a very mature player. I can’t wait to see what he can do.”
• Stelton said new quarterback Sam Darnold remains “probably the biggest question mark on this team.”
“I’ve seen moments (at practice) where he’s looked really good,” Stelton said. “I’ve seen other moments where not awesome. I don’t know how much stock to put into it. I’m still very curious as to what he looks like when it’s gametime.”
