Tonight’s WWE SmackDown, airing August 29, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines, France. The WWE Clash In Paris go-home show sees MFT’s WWE United States Champion Solo Sikoa defend his title against Sami Zayn. Plus, 17-time World Champion John Cena will make an appearance.

WWE SmackDown Results (8/29/25): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett welcoming us, while we see some shots of the host city. Cole then narrates the arrivals of Solo Sikoa and the MFTs and Sami Zayn.
We then head back to ringside as commentary hypes up the show before we see the of face-off between John Cena and Logan Paul from last week’s show. We then see how SmackDown ended before heading to the parking lot, where Logan Paul makes his way into the arena.
The crowd then welcomes Paul with a chorus of boos as he heads to ringside, with commentary hyping up the match he has against John Cena at Clash in Paris. Paul then has a mic and he addresses Cena calling him a parasite, but he insists that he is a disrupter. The then crowd shouts obscenities at Paul, who tells them to stop as they’re getting muted on TV. Paul then gets into what he has brought WWE to, citing the deals with Netflix and ESPN among others. Paul then says you’re welcome TKO. Paul then says he even brought PRIME into WWE and the WWE has become the WW-Me. Paul then says Cena represents the outdated institutionalized wrestling that keeps the fans comfortable.
Paul then says he is mad that Cena told him to bring his A-game like he isn’t an athletic phenomenon. Paul then speaks a bit of French to put an exclamation point on what he thinks of Cena before saying those who don’t get with what he’s about will be left behind. Paul is then interrupted by the arrival of John Cena to a huge pop from the Lyon crowd. The crowd sings along to Cena’s theme as he enters the ring before giving him another thunderous ovation with “Cena” chants ringing throughout the arena. We then get the introduction about the “Unseen Seventeen” celebrating one last time in Lyon, as the crowd chants Cena’s name again. Cena then finally speaks up and he calls Logan Paul stupid. Cena then tells Paul, “You can’t do this alone, without the fans there is nothing.”
Cena then says he sees so much potential in Paul and that’s what makes him so mad. Paul then says he wants to take the business to new heights, but doesn’t want to put an ounce toward understanding the business. Cena then says Paul is not a disrupter, but a wannabe, citing his own career as having done what Logan Paul is doing now. Cena then calls out Paul’s remarks about bringing the fans Netflix and ESPN. Cena then says it’s his influence that brings all these things, but Paul’s influence isn’t what it used to be. Cena then says he saw the list that was released on the top 25 influencers of all time. Cena then says Druski, IShowSpeed and others were on it, but not Paul. Cena then says Paul made stunt and prank videos at 18 and at 30 when he was on the front page and it was for the wrong reason.
Cena then continues running down Paul when he is interrupted by a chant from the crowd. Cena then speaks a little French, which garners a pop from the crowd. Paul then calls Cena stupid to get more boos before Cena cuts him off to say that he needs to understand what it means to be real. Cena then leaves the ring as he talks about respect and how having respect in this family means when you are having a bad day that you can be given a pass.
Cena then heads up the ramp to find the boy that he gave out to months ago on the road to WrestleMania and tells him he is sorry, he was having a bad day and thank you for being there when he needed it most. Cena then heads back to the ring as Paul tells the “professional pretender” to wrap it up. He then reminds the “d***head” that Paul is the one who wanted this match, so he’d better polish his game.
We then head to the back, where we hear from The Street Profits ahead of their #1 Contender’s Match against Melo Don’t Miz. They are then interrupted by Uncle Howdy, who asks if they are a real family because the Wyatt Sicks is. Howdy says when The Street Profits fail, they will have to find out if they are really brothers.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss then make their way down to the ring for the first match of SmackDown and Alba Fyre blindsides Flair on the entranceway. She then goes after the leg of Flair before she gets pulled away by security. We are back at ringside and the tag team match has been changed to a singles match between Alexas Bliss and Chelsea Green.
Singles Match: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Chelsea Green
The match starts off with both women going at it until Chelsea Green gets the upper hand sending Bliss to the corner for some strikes. Green then takes Bliss down to the mat for a stomp. Green then looks to take Bliss to the ropes, but Bliss hits Green with a headscissors and that forces Green to take a breather on the outside. Green then puts Alba Fyre in the path of an attack off the apron by Bliss. Green then sends Bliss back to the ring for more damage. A chinlock is then broken as Bliss fights to her feet and fends Green off in the corner. Green then sends Bliss to the outside, where Fyre sneaks in a shot.
Bliss is back in the ring and she takes even more damage by Green, who hits a missile dropkick and that forces Bliss to leave the ring. Green then follows close behind, but Bliss turns things around sending Green into the barricade. The referee’s begins as both women end up sliding into the ring to get back into it. They then go at each other until Bliss gets a near fall. Green then fights back for a two count of her own before climbing up top, only to get caught in a tree of woe by Bliss. Bliss then hits a dropkick to the midsection.
Green then drops to the mat as Bliss goes up top, with Fyre intervening long enough for a Twisted Bliss to hit on Green’s knees. Green then goes for an Unprettier, but gets pushed to the ropes. She then block a Sister Abigail. An exchange of waist-locks then ends with Bliss rolling up Green for the win.

After the match, Green and Fyre go after Bliss until Charlotte Flair makes her way down for the save. Flair is then hit with an Unprettier from Green, with Bliss getting dropped with a Gory facebuster by Fyre. They then salute as Green’s music plays.
We then head to the back, where Sami Zayn talks about feeling like the best version of himself now that he is on SmackDown. Zayn then says now it’s time to go out there and do it and there’s no better place to do it than Lyon. Zayn then talks in French about becoming the new United States Champion and he gets a “Sami” chant from the crowd.
We then see a photo of Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ new child.
We then look at WWE: Unreal, which is focused on Bianca Belair’s pride in making her own ring gear.
We then take a look at the weekend ahead for Clash in Paris.
We then get a vignette, where Aleister Black tells Damian Priest something is going to happen. Black says he is going to take off the mask and show what hell is about. Black then says the violence is going to exacerbate. Black then says he will show how misguided Priest is. Black then says Priest sits at home and feels the pressure on his chest and he can’t move your arms and you feel paralyzed. Black then says that is him kneeling on his chest whispering, “I Warned You.”
Cathy Kelley is with Damian Priest and he is asked about Black’s comments. Priest says Black looks educated and he wants to be like him. Priest then says threatening him with violence shows how unprepared Black is. Priest then says he will teach Black what it is like to be him and he will teach him about pain. Priest then says they will square up in the ring and he will be smiling because he will enjoy what he is going to inflict on Black.
Michin then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of SmackDown and Kiana James follows.
Singles Match: Michin vs. Kiana James
The match starts off with James charging at Michin with her purse, but Michin dodges it and rolls James up for the win.

After the match, Giulia attacks Michin. Giulia then hits a knee while Kiana James holds Michin. Giulia then sends Michin into the ringside barrier. Giulia then slams Michin’s head into the ringside barrier. Giulia then hits a curb stomp onto the ring steps and both Giulia and James stand over Michin.
We then see Drew McIntyre in the backstage area as we will hear from him next.
Drew McIntyre then makes his way down to the ring. McIntyre then looks under the ring to see if Randy Orton is hiding. McIntyre then asks if Orton is hiding around here. McIntyre. then asks for a medical update on Cody Rhodes since Michael Cole kisses Cody’s arse. McIntyre then enters the ring. McIntyre then tells Orton if he wants to face him like a man, he will fight him. McIntyre then says he just wants to talk to Orton so he asks him to come out so the people can sing his song.
Randy Orton’s music then hits and the crowd serenade him. McIntyre then asks if that is special. McIntyre then says he wants Orton to listen to him and maybe he will see things his way. McIntyre then says Orton attacked him last week and he he did it because of SummerSlam, then he understands. McIntyre then says Orton picked Jelly Roll as a partner and if he did it because he thinks Cody is your friend, then he does not like that. McIntyre then says Cody is a manipulator and a politician. McIntyre then says when Orton were out for two years, Cody was in constant contact with him. McIntyre then says that wasn’t friendship, that was intel to use against him. McIntyre then says remember what happened at the end of King of the Ring. McIntyre then says Orton hesitated, but Cody went after his back because he knew how to hurt him because he told Cody and he knew the answers. McIntyre then says at this point, if he thinks Cody is his friend, then he is naive. McIntyre then says if Orton believes Cody is his friend, then he is an idiot.
Orton then says McIntyre made a very compelling argument. Orton then says if McIntyre thinks he dropped his ass last week for Cody, then he is wrong. Orton then says he did it because he thinks that McIntyre is a prick. McIntyre then hits a head butt and he up sets for a Claymore, but Orton drops down to avoid McIntyre. Orton then hits a DDT. Orton then twists to the mat and he sets up for an RKO. Security then comes down to the ring to stop the chaos. Orton then hits RKOs on members of the security and he hits one on Gregory Helms. Orton then lines up for the punt, but McIntyre rolls to the floor.
We then head to the back, where The Miz and Carmelo Hayes are having a conversation and Hayes says what happened the last few weeks cannot happen tonight. He then says Miz cannot steal their win. Miz then says they won with him getting the wins. Miz then says it is an us thing, not a you or me thing. He then says they win tonight, they get a title match. Miz then says they need to harness it. He then says they are a team. Bo Dallas then shows up and says there are always different perceptions. He then asks if they are okay with that. Hayes then tells Dallas not to write checks that he cannot cash.
The Street Profits then make their way down to the ring for the next match of SmackDown.
We then see Nick Aldis yelling at Randy Orton for attacking security again. Orton then says it is good to feel bad some times. Orton then gives Aldis some Fireball. R-Truth then shows up and asks Aldis if he is going to drink it. Aldis then says he might and Truth leaves.
Melo Don’t Miz then make their way down to the ring for the next match of SmackDown and we are told that the winners of the tag team match faces the Wyatts on Sunday.
WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match: The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) vs. Melo Don’t Miz (Carmelo Hayes and The Miz)
The match starts off with Montez Ford and The Miz. Ford then dodges an attack from Miz and cartwheels away before hits Miz with a dropkick. A tag is then made to Dawkins for a double team, but before Dawkins can do more Melo tags himself in. This then leads to an argument before Dawkins gets the jump on both of them, sending Miz away and Melo to the corner. Melo then gets sent to the ropes but fights back, with Miz holding Dawkins down long enough for Hayes to hit Nothing But Net.
Hayes then sends Dawkins back in the ring before tagging in Miz. The crowd then chants “Miz is awesome” as they double team Dawkins. Miz then stays on the attack with some It Kicks, only for Dawkins to roll him up for a two count. Miz then fights back before tagging in Melo, who takes Dawkins down for a two count. He then sends Dawkins back to his corner for a tag to Miz, who stomps away at Dawkins. He then stays on the attack until Melo tags himself in, laying in more damage on Dawkins before Miz tags back in. This then goes back and forth.
Dawkins then starts to fight back and he sends Melo to the ropes for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. He. then crawls over for the tag to Ford as Miz tags in as well, with Ford getting the upper hand with a back suplex. A big cross body and a standing moonsault then gets Ford a two count, but Miz fights back with a DDT for a near fall of his own. Miz then looks for the Skull Crushing Finale as Melo tags himself in and Ford takes Miz down for a frog splash. Melo then hits one of his own and he covers Ford for two count. Miz then reaches out for a tag, but gets distracted by the arrival of the Wyatt Sicks and this allows the Profits to hit the Revelation on Melo for the win.

After the match, The Wyatt Sicks enter the ring to stand off with The Street Profits. The group then eventually leaves the ring and stares the Profits down.
We then head to the back, where Tiffany Stratton is confronted by Jade Cargill who reveals she is the number one contender for hr title. This then leads to a back and forth about how SummerSlam went, which ends with Cargill promising all the talk of them being on the same level will die down.
In another backstage area, Solo Sikoa asks the MFTs if Sami Zayn has a chance. Sikoa then says one spike to the throat and it is over. Sikoa then promises to take Zayn out and retain his United States Championship.
Sami Zayn then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of SmackDown.
We then take a look at the latest What’s Your Story? podcast before commentary hypes up the card for Clash In Paris. Back at ringside, Sami Zayn is still getting a great reception from the crowd as Solo Sikoa makes his way down to the ring for the main event of SmackDown, accompanied by the MFT. We then get introductions for the challenger and the champion and the main event is underway.
WWE United States Championship Match: MFT’s Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Sami Zayn
The match starts off with Solo Sikoa going on the attack early with some headbutts and he forcing Sami Zayn to the outside, but Zayn turns it around and he goes to the ropes before thinking of going for a dive as the MFT is standing next to Sikoa. Sikoa then regroups on the outside. Sikoa then catches Zayn on the top rope before laying in some more strikes. Zayn then fights back with some right hands before Sikoa drops him to the mat. Sikoa then mocks Zayn before taking a chop to the chest and he responds with a beatdown.
Sikoa then sends Zayn to the corner for a hip attack, but Zayn starts fighting back before sending Sikoa to the outside for a big dive. Zayn then sends Sikoa back into the ring, only for JC Mateo and Tonga Loa to attack him while the referee is checking on Sikoa. Sikoa then hits Zayn with a Spinning Solo for a two count. Someone in a hoodie, who is revealed to be Jimmy Uso then attacks Mateo and Loa, but they fight before Jacob Fatu comes out to even things up. Fatu then targets Talla Tonga as Jimmy Uso sends the rest of the MFTs out. Zayn then gets a near fall in and goes for a Helluva Kick before Sikoa sends him to the outside. Sikoa then hits a Spinning Solo that sends Zayn crashing onto the announce desk.
Sikoa then poses with his title before sliding back into the ring, while the referee begins counting and Zayn slides in at eight. Sikoa then brings Zayn right back out and hits a couple of Spinning Solos onto the desk before sliding back into the ring. The referee then counts again, reaching nine before Zayn manages to get back in. Zayn is in the corner as Sikoa lays in a few shots before propping him up on the turnbuckle. Both men then fight it out on the top. Zayn then manages to slip out of the grip of Sikoa for a sunset flip powerbomb, but it’s only good for a two count as Sikoa kicks out. Zayn then climbs up top for a flying move, but he doesn’t hit it and that gives Sikoa an opening for a Samoan drop.
Sikoa then goes up top and hits a splash on Zayn, then goes for a cover but Zayn kicks out at two. Sikoa then brings Zayn to his feet for a Samoan Spike, but Zayn dodges it to roll him up for a two. Zayn then hits an exploder suplex on Sikoa to send him into the corner and goes for a Helluva Kick, but it gets denied the first time. Zayn then goes for the Helluva Kick again and hits it twice. Zayn then goes for a cover and gets the win.

After the match, we take a look back at the finish as Zayn celebrates with the crowd singing along with his theme song and Zayn gets pyro for the occasion. Zayn then raises his title up high as SmackDown comes to a close.
