The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection to a woman who was found deceased in her car Saturday night.
Isaiah N. Goins, 26, of Columbia was arrested early Sunday afternoon, according to a Facebook post from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. Goins was located at a business on Clark Lane Sunday afternoon and was then taken to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office for an interview.
According to the post, a probable was developed to arrest Goins for First-Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Goins is currently being held at the Boone County Jail on the notable charges.
A 43-year-old woman was found deceased in her car after a citizen reported the vehicle might have hit a residence.
At around 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, a citizen approached a sergeant for the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at Boone County Fire Protection District, according to a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Department. The citizen reported that a car possibly hit a residence.
The sergeant began checking the area described by the citizen and he located a vehicle parked alongside a residence in the 2400 block of N. Lake of the Woods Road, according to the post.
The rear of the vehicle initially appeared to be against the home, but upon further inspection it was discovered the vehicle did not hit the residence.
When the sergeant approached the vehicle, he noticed a female in the driver’s seat. The woman was unconscious and it was clear she was injured. Deputies forced entry into the vehicle in attempt to assist the woman, but discovered she was deceased on contact, according to the post.
Evidence at the scene revealed the woman had been shot and killed, according to the post.
This is an ongoing investigation and is currently being investigated as a homicide.
