Coming off an ugly 38-14 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Wisconsin Badgers are in a must-win game on Saturday against the Maryland Terrapins in Week 4, with kickoff slated for 11:00 a.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
Last week, the Badgers were simply outmatched on both sides of the ball, getting dominated for much of the game without an answer.
Now, they look to turn the page to kick off Big Ten play, and have some big news ahead of Week 4. Starting quarterback Billy Edwards is expected to play against Maryland, marking his return after he suffered a knee sprain in the season opener.
However, center Jake Renfro is expected to be out after battling through ankle and knee injuries. Additionally, defensive lineman Charles Perkins is out for the second straight week, while safety Preston Zachman is out in a major twist.
With Renfro out and Kodanko questionable, redshirt freshman Ryan Cory at center is expected to make his first career start, which would mean the Badgers have three redshirt freshmen on their offensive line.
Additionally, no Preston Zachman puts transfer Matt Jung in place to make his first start with the Badgers. Jung’s snap count has been going up weekly, and he’ll be in line for a bigger role on Saturday.
Heading into the afternoon, the Badgers are seen as 9.5-point favorites, with the over/under set at 43.5 points.
