William Shatner Says He’s “Perfectly Fine” After Brief Hospitalization

William Shatner is reassuring everyone that he is doing well after reports that he was rushed to the hospital for a medical emergency.

In a post on Instagram this morning, the 94-year-old Star Trek legend shared a mustached photo of himself captioned “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggurated.”

“I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!”, he wrote. You can see his post below.

Shatner’s agent Harry Gold told TMZ the actor experienced an issue with his blood sugar at his Los Angeles home Wednesday afternoon. He called paramedics as a precaution and was taken to a hospital where he was checked out and promptly released.

Shatner will next be seen in Family Tree, a holiday-set dramedy which he and Tom Bergeron created and also star. Family Tree centers on three estranged siblings who reunite at Christmas to sell their crumbling childhood home only to discover that fixing the house might be the key to repairing their fractured family. The film is said to be in its final stages of pre-production, and is planning to begin production in 2026.

His 2021 trip to space on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin was documented in Amazon special Shatner in Space, which took an inside look at the before, during, and after of the historic trip that saw him become the oldest person ever to travel to space.

“My time in space was the most profound experience I could have ever imagined,” said Shatner in a statement on his return. “This special documenting my journey gives a dramatic view of that experience, and my hope is that it inspires the world to see we must go to space to save Earth.”
