What will the Packers do differently in Week 2?

John Kuhn’s block on the Cobb TD against the Bears is one of my favorites! Even more meaninful after Peppers became a Packer. It’s not often I remember a block, but that was one

Does that extension put Doubs’ future in question?

I don’t know. There are (at least) 16 games left, and a lot can happen.

Are there any question marks on Jordan Love? Objectively, it’s unfair for us to think he’s Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre, but I feel as though general sentiment is he has to live up to that? Last year he was hurt, the year before he had a strong second half, but we have not seen consistent strong play. Is this a make a break year for him with all the talent that surrounds this team?

It’s not a make or break year. It’s a year he has to continue showing progress, and good health would help provide a huge foundation to that. I thought he played a really strong game against Detroit. Perfect? No. But awfully good.

How did Kenny Clark look in Dallas ,better than Alexander in Balt?

Yes. Alexander was hurt for a good portion of training camp in Baltimore. He didn’t look like he was ready to be out there in those types of situations. Just my opinion.

Didn’t Goff’s demeanor on Sunday remind you of his dismal showing in the Rams super bowl? He was spooked by something or somebody.

I don’t know about spooked, but he definitely looked uncomfortable dealing with GB’s pass rush, and I thought he was taking glances at Parsons specifically.

Are you going to partake in wearing white for tomorrow night’s game?

I don’t own any white pants. White shirt, sure.

Heard people questioning what we had to give up for Micah…but pretty straight forward to me….when you can turn a potential question mark into one of the strongest positions on your team, you do it in a heartbeat. Bottom line.

It’s not that to me. When you can acquire a player on a Hall of Fame trajectory in his mid-20s, you’re likely to get his best football. You do that any chance you can, because most teams don’t let those players walk out the door.

Does Watson’s new extension signal he’ll be back sooner rather than later?

I don’t think it says anything about his return timeline this year one way or the other.

I couldn’t have been the only one at home who jumped out of my seat on that sack, even thought it was relatively meaningless as far as the game was going

Faithful follower since the onset…I read and watch most content provided by yourself, Wes, and my personal favorite, the “Rock”. Since the Parsons signing everyone seems to have a shine in their eyes, a smile on their face, and a spring in their step. Is the energy in the building as palpable as it seems???

These guys are fired up, but they know it takes focus and hard work. It’s not some big birthday party every day in the locker room or anything. They know they can be really good, but they have to earn it.

Looking forward to the blog Thursday night, appreciate you doing it.

I’ll be there. Funny, my computer crashed last Sunday, but it happened to do it at halftime so everything was fine as far as covering the game. Fingers crossed that wasn’t some sign my computer is on its last legs.

Just a comment: When I surf to opposing team’s NFL homepages to check them out, I further appreciate all the hard work your team does to populate Packers’ homepage with all kinds of great content. Packers fans get A LOT more content (and better content, IMHO) than some others out there.

‘Preciate you saying that. We have a great team of people here. I know Wes and I are the ones with our names on everything, but we work with a great group that help us out in immeasurable ways.

Any insights as to when Javon Bullard lines up as the safety opposite Xavier McKinney, vs the primary other safety in Evan Williams?

Could be opponent specific or matchup specific based on the opponent’s personnel on a particular play. I’m sure there are reasons for everything.

Great to see Goff not have time and we didn’t have to send extra guys to make him feel that way!

Exactly. It wasn’t some sort of blitz fest. When you can rush 4, cover 7 and affect the QB, that puts the defense in a good spot.

Was Parson’s not credited with a QB hit on the INT just because he let up? He could have still hit him some and not get called I think. Are Packers players instructed to not hit the QB at all if can help it?

Absolutely. You don’t want to hit the QB if you can pull up, because if the officials feel you could’ve pulled up, they’ll throw the flag.

Just watched all the coaches press conferences, a recurring phrase was “the best I’ve seen (around here)”. Pretty strong praise for after Game 1 no?

Yes, but there indeed was a lot to like about that performance on both sides of the ball.

Goff had absolutely no time for third reads, often second, or barely first. On that interception, had he had time to read it better, it likely wouldn’t have happened, but he had a rusher splitting the guard and center. A great rush like we had last week makes a world of difference.

Rush and coverage always go hand in hand.

Bears played one strong quarter. Just so happens, so did the Vikes. Minnesota’s 4th Q trumped Chicago’s 1st Q. Not too impressed with anyone besides the Pack in the North so far.

I have to admit, I didn’t see the Bears D falling apart like that after the pick-six in the third quarter.

Non-football query here. Is your daughter slated for any more National Anthem performances?

Ha, no. She’s not on the list this year.

I attribute our DL play to the absence of Kenny Clark. He had set an example for those young men since before they were ever drafted. I’m sure they made Kenny proud

I’d like to think so too.

TV announcers kept hyping Haf as a potential head coach. Can he leave GB at any time despite his contract?

Coaches can leave for other jobs as long as they’re promotions. Position coach to coordinator, coordinator to head coach.

Thank you for the time today, Mike.

Thanks to everyone for the participation. I see I’ve actually gone past a full hour, so I’d better sign off. I’ll be back on here Thursday night for the game. Enjoy it, folks. Take care.
