President Donald Trump had a visibly black-and-blue bruise on his right hand as he met with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Monday in the Oval Office.
The bruise comes after the president’s hand was covered with a noticeable splotch of makeup on Friday that did not match his skin tone and a different-black-and-blue bruise on his other hand.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has said Trump’s hand bruising is “consistent” with irritation from his “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.”
Leavitt’s explanation did not pass the smell test, according to social media users.
“Release the health records,” tweeted the anti-Trump media organization MeidasTouch.
“Really? A bruised hand explained away as ‘soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes’? The White House insists the president Trump is in ‘excellent health.’ The question isn’t the bruise — it’s the trust deficit,” added Stephen Mutoro.
“They want us to believe that Trump has bruises on BOTH HANDS from handshaking with his right hand, but his ear healed so perfectly after being shot that there was NO SIGN of it within weeks,” tweeted liberal influencer David Pakman. “Got it.”
“If Joe Biden’s hand had looked like it was covered in grey scale Fox would be running that s— on a loop 24/7,” added liberal influencer JoJofromJerz, real name Joanne Carducci.
