PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — By now, you probably have seen or heard about an increase in federal resources to Portland related to the protests outside of the local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.
President Donald Trump has referred to the Rose City as being “war-ravaged,” a “hell hole” under siege by “Antifa” domestic terrorists. The President has also called for National Guard troops to be deployed and authorized “full force, if necessary.”
A timeline of Trump’s deployment of troops to Oregon
KATU News has covered this story extensively.
And starting Thursday, Oct. 9 at 12:00 a.m., we will begin a 24-hour livestream outside of the Portland ICE Facility in the 4300 block of S. Macadam Ave.
Our aim is to show the public everything we see. We want to give our viewers the opportunity to watch what is happening; to see for yourself and draw your own conclusions on whether or not federal intervention is warranted.
The unedited livestream will offer a look at all the activity that takes place outside the facility over a 24-hour period.
The stream will only drop out briefly every few hours so that our news crews can replace cameras and batteries, as well as adjust for shift changes.
You can watch the event live on KATU.com and the KATU YouTube page, or just pop in and out during the day.
