After missing most of last season with a broken leg, Hutchinson has returned to form in 2025 and is a big reason why the Lions rank fifth in the league in sacks and are top 10 in total defense (eighth).
He and Al-Quadin Muhammad (5.0 sacks) form one of the more productive edge duos in the NFL through the first eight weeks of the season. Paired with a talented defensive tackle group that includes Alim McNeill, DJ Reader, Tyleik Williams and Roy Lopez, the Lions have one of the deeper and more productive defensive line units in the NFL. Detroit heads into Week 9 with the fourth best run defense in the NFL, allowing on average just 87.7 yards per game on the ground.
