What Dodgers’ pitching plan could look like if there’s a World Series Game 7

The Dodgers were considering starting Shohei Ohtani in Game 7 as an opener — if there’s a Game 7.

Due to a quirk in rules, they’d lose the DH if Ohtani came in as a reliever but not as a starter. That’s what makes him a better option to start. But of course, that depended on them winning Friday’s Game 6 first.

If Ohtani starts on three days’ rest, he’d probably pitch a couple of innings before Tyler Glasnow gets the call.

If Ohtani does start, it would be a matchup of future Hall of Famers since Max Scherzer would be scheduled for Toronto.
