Wes Lee Released From WWE Contract

Another name has been confirmed in WWE’s latest batch of releases—and it’s a major one.

According to a report from Bodyslam.net, Wes Lee is no longer with the company. Since Lee was under an NXT contract, it’s expected he’ll serve a 30-day non-compete clause before he can appear elsewhere.

Wes Lee made his WWE debut in NXT as one half of MSK, teaming with Nash Carter. The duo quickly racked up accomplishments, winning the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and securing the NXT Tag Team Titles twice. After their run as a tag team, Lee stepped into singles competition and truly made his mark as North American Champion. His title reign earned praise for his consistency and athleticism in high-paced matches.

Lee now joins a growing list of names let go this week by WWE. Other releases include Stevie Turner, Lance Anoa’i, Drako Knox, Haze Jameson, Summer Sorrell, Brayden “BJ” Ray, Jamar Hampton, and Jin Tala.

Wes Lee had a strong fan following and a proven record of delivering standout performances in NXT. His release comes as a surprise, and fans are already wondering where he might go next.

Are you surprised to see Wes Lee let go? Should WWE have given him a shot on the main roster before cutting ties? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
