President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will not “give or forget anything” to Russia, stressing that Kyiv continues to strengthen its defense and energy cooperation with international partners.
In his latest address, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is working with European allies to expand the PURL program and increase purchases of American weapons, particularly air defense systems and long-range capabilities.
Kyiv is also preparing new agreements with several countries on weapons and defense technologies, as well as on securing energy and gas supplies for the upcoming winter.
According to the president, Ukraine has submitted proposals to Washington concerning infrastructure projects related to gas, nuclear power generation, and “some other initiatives.”
He added that almost daily communication is taking place with European leaders to ensure a unified position on “the right pressure” against Russia.

“We will not gift anything to the aggressor, and we will not forget anything. We clearly see that this Russia is a long-term threat. Therefore, Europe needs long-term cooperation and tangible results—both in the short term and in a more far-sighted perspective—so that people can live,” Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that Ukrainian diplomats are preparing a meeting of the “coalition of the willing” in the near future to coordinate international support efforts.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that during a conversation with US President Donald Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin allegedly demanded that Ukraine abandon the Donetsk region, while offering to relinquish control over the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
Trump has not publicly confirmed this exchange but has called on both sides “to stop where they are” and begin peace talks.
Zelenskyy expressed support for Trump’s call for a ceasefire along the current front line to initiate negotiations aimed at ending the war. He added that the issue of territorial control would be discussed under any negotiation framework, but for now, “the most important thing is to sit down and talk about a ceasefire.”
In the same statement, Zelenskyy emphasized the growing role of the United States in supporting Europe’s energy independence. He said Washington is ready to supply as much gas and oil as needed to replace Russian energy imports.
“They are ready to supply Europe with as much gas and oil as needed to replace Russian supplies. Our region has the necessary infrastructure and potential to strengthen Europe’s energy independence even further,” the president stated.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine and the US are working out the details of cooperation on gas infrastructure, nuclear power, and other projects.
Earlier, it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy held separate meetings with leading US defense companies Raytheon and Lockheed Martin to discuss expanding cooperation on air‑defense and long‑range strike capabilities.
