Was Rylie, Morgan, or Mickey evicted live?

Heading into the sixth eviction episode of Big Brother 27, Lauren Domingue had just used the Veto to remove her No. 1 ally, Vince Panaro, from the chopping block. Head of Household Rachel Reilly then made good on her repeated threats to replace Vince with one of Lauren’s closest allies, forcing one-half of the showmance duo, Rylie Jeffries, to take his seat alongside Mickey Lee and Morgan Pope. So, who saved themselves with the Block Buster, and who was evicted from the house by the end of the hour?

We begin where Wednesday’s episode left off, with Rylie taking his seat on the block next to Morgan and Mickey. Katherine was in tears seeing her showmance partner Rylie in danger for the second time this season, and was confused that Rachel took a shot at the couple after claiming earlier she wouldn’t. Meanwhile, Vince was now sitting pretty after his bestie Lauren used the Veto on him, despite facing immense pressure by Rachel to keep the noms the same. Got all that? Let’s go!

#ButFirst Pickles and M&Ms

Rachel’s renomination of Rylie to the block didn’t set a clear path forward to any of the houseguests preparing to vote for the eviction. Lauren, Kelley and Katherine believed they easily had a majority to keep Rylie in the house no matter what while Will and Ashley reassured Rachel that if Rylie loses the BB Block Buster that she would have made a huge move. Then there’s Vince who got himself into the pickle of promising both Morgan and Rylie that he’d vote for them to stay no matter what, putting him in a position of potentially having to break a promise to one of them.

Mickey and Morgan have been two of the closest allies in the game up until this point, but being on the block together put them in their own pickles of having to pitch for them to stay over the other. In one scene, Morgan walked in on Mickey using M&Ms to understand the numbers at play this week with Katherine even though that is something that Mickey and Morgan did together as allies. Later, Morgan told Ashley that Mickey has been throwing her friendship with Rachel under the bus as a way of undermining Ashley’s loyalty. A new alliance was born between Morgan, Will, Ashley, Rachel and Vince who all realized that they’ve been sidelined by Mickey in recent weeks, setting up a possible blindside for Mickey to go home if she remains in the nomination chairs next to Morgan.

BB Block Buster

In this week’s BB Block Buster comp “Settle the Score,” the three nominees had two minutes to roll a ball down a tilted game board to land in the highest possible slot with a locked in score. Rather quickly, Rylie scored a 29 out of a possible 40 and patiently awited to see if he was beaten before locking in a score. In that time Morgan scored a 29 as well and locked it in while outside the shot of the camera, Mickey scored a 38 and locked it in. Rylie was still sitting at a 29 with a minute left on the clock, but locked his losing score in anyway. With the scores set, Mickey became the winner to remove herself from the block.

In the moments left free for the houseguests to debate who to evict, Vince walked over to Ava and asked her what they should do, suggesting that a Rylie vs. Morgan vote might still be up in the air. Rachel whispered “You have to” in their direction and later Keanu urged Vince to not believe something someone else told him. Speaking to the house directly in their last pitches, Rylie asked to be kept in the house to play alongside everyone and Morgan hoped that they see her as “best for your game” so that she can continue to live out her dream.

Live Eviction

This week in the Diary Room live vote it takes five to reach a majority to evict. Mickey, Vince, Ashley, Will and Ava voted in the majority to evict Rylie. Katherine, Kelley, Lauren and Keanu voted in the minority to evict Morgan. The 5-4 vote came as a shock to the house that never expected Rylie to be the evicted houseguest this week, but proved to be a huge power move by Big Brother royalty Rachel.

In his exit interview with Julie at the end of the episode, Rylie said that “Rachel did a lot of manipulating” to get him voted out this week and though he hoped that Vince voted to keep him, acknowledged that “it is what it is” hearing that he didn’t. Ultimately he blamed himself for not winning the BB Block Buster because of locking in too early and admits that playing the game is harder than riding bulls, which he calls “another day in the office.”

Coming up this Sunday is the “iconic wall competition” to determine the next HOH in a special supersized episode with Big Brother Unlocked hosts Derrick Levasseur and Taylor Hale as well as their special guest this week, Survivor‘s Boston Rob Mariano, making an appearance.
