The North Carolina Tar Heels coach has no Power Four wins with the latest loss at the hands of Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. The 2-3 start for the six-time Super Bowl Champion coach has sparked many reactions on social media. There was even one fake post that went viral claiming Belichick was fired by UNC.

While there’s no truth behind the so-called report, the masses got tripped up believing Big Bill was on his way out of Chapel Hill.

As of Oct. 6, 2025, Belichick has not been fired from UNC.

Many on social media believe UNC moved on from Belichick following the team’s loss to Clemson because of a viral post on Instagram.

“Bill Belichick has been relieved of his duties as head coach of North Carolina, effective immediately,” the post read. “’It’s clear at this point that Tom Brady was literally his entire career, and that he’s probably one of the worst coaches in football if he never cheated every single game at New England,’ stated University President James T. Kimmel.”
