The launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra is a way off yet. In the meantime, Vivo is preparing to release the X300 and X300 Pro. Currently, these pair are due to arrive by about a month at the latest.
As we have discussed separately, the X300 and X300 Pro will be some of the first smartphones to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset alongside the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro. By contrast, the timing of the X100 Ultra and X200 Ultra’s releases implies that Vivo will wait until spring 2026 before introducing the X300 Ultra.
Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station has indicated that they have received early information about Vivo’s next Ultra-branded flagship. Writing on Weibo, the leaker implies that Vivo intends to utilise the Sony IMX09E as the primary camera inside the X300 Ultra. A 200 MP sensor, the IMX09E is said to be technically superior to the LYT-900 with a 1/1.12-inch optical format, 0.7 μm wide pixels and over 100 dB of dynamic range.
While not official, the IMX09E would help Vivo combat Samsung and the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,075 on Amazon), which is one of the few flagships to feature a 200 MP sensor as its primary camera. To that end, Digital Chat Station suggests that Vivo could combine the IMX09E with a 35 mm lens, which would surpass the Vivo X200 Ultra, too. Reportedly, this sensor is large enough to achieve ‘exception image quality’ even at 70 mm as well.
