Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 27 spoilers all summer long. Read at your own risk!
The wait is finally over.
After seven long weeks, the fan-fave Wall competition has finally arrived on Big Brother. This ultimate endurance challenge forces the houseguests to stand with their backs against a tilting platform for as long as they can, all while getting sprayed with freezing water, yucky slime, and other obstacles. It has the potential to last multiple hours, and live feed viewers can’t get enough.
Outgoing Head of Household Rachel Reilly was not eligible to compete this week, but the other 10 contestants were: Ashley Hollis, Ava Pearl, Katherine Woodman, Keanu Soto, Kelley Jorgensen, Lauren Domingue, Mickey Lee, Morgan Pope, Vince Panaro, and Will Williams.
The Wall comp took place shortly after Rylie Jeffries was evicted from the Big Brother house by a 5-4 vote over Morgan. On his way out the door, Rylie shared such a long hug with his teary-eyed showmance partner Katherine that host Julie Chen Moonves ordered him to leave immediately. This was live television, after all!
Fun fact: the longest Wall comp in U.S. Big Brother history took place in Season 14, with Danielle Murphree lasting a whopping three hours, 16 minutes. The shortest? That was just last summer, with Season 26’s Tucker Des Lauriers winning in just 32 minutes.
On Thursday night, the Wall comp began around 9:30 p.m. PT and lasted until approximately 10:48 p.m. PT. The final two houseguests hanging were Katherine and Vince. Eventually, Katherine fell, leaving Vince as the last person standing and the winner of the seventh Head of Household key.
Vince’s victory also means he’s the first contestant in Season 27 to win HOH twice. He was previously Head of Household during the chaotic first week, when Isaiah “Zae” Frederich was evicted.
Which three houseguests will Vince nominate for eviction? Remember, he already has final two deals with Kelley, Morgan, Keanu, and Lauren, and he’s in a brand new, five-person alliance with Rachel, Morgan, Will, and Ashley. That leaves — counts fingers — just Ava and Katherine as those who aren’t in serious alliances with the 34-year-old unemployed California native. Stay tuned.
Important note: Rylie’s exit interviews with Gold Derby and other outlets, scheduled for Friday morning, have been canceled due to “scheduling conflicts.” CBS hopes to reschedule them “next week” instead.
