MATCH HUB | FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

STARTING XI NOTES:

Phallon Tullis-Joyce, 29,earns her fourth USWNT cap at the senior level, all earned this year. Tullis-Joyce was the 28th goalkeeper in USWNT history to earn a cap when she played against Brazil on April 5 and the 10th GK in U.S. history to earn a shutout in her debut. The Manchester United netminder has played in 12 matches so far this season and has eight shutouts.

Avery Patterson, 23, will earn her seventh cap and make her fifth start, after making her first appearance on April 5 vs. Brazil in Los Angeles when she came on at the end of the match. Patterson, who has three goals from the outside back position this year for the Houston Dash, was in the USA’s Youth National Team program at the U-14, U-20 and U-23 levels.

Tara McKeown,26, earns her ninth career cap and makes her seventh start. She started the first game of the SheBelieves Cup vs. Colombia, came off the bench against Australia and started against Japan. She will start her fifth game next to Emily Sonnett after having done so twice at the 2025 SBC, on April 5 vs. Brazil and on April 8 vs. Brazil.

Lindsey Heaps will earn her 168th career cap. She is 21st on the all-time caps list, chasing Carla Overbeck, who has 170. Heaps will captain the USA for the 38th time.

Michelle Cooper, 22, earns her ninth cap and makes her fifth career start. She will be looking to add to her one career goal, scored against Australia in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, but has already two assists — the first of which she earned on May 31 vs. China PR.

Emily Sonnett, 32,starts in the center of the defense to earn her 111th career cap. She will be making her 59th start today, meaning she has started 53% of her career caps.

Rose Lavelle, 30,will earn her 114th cap and will be looking for her 26th career goal to match her assist total. On June 26 vs. Ireland, she became the 25th player in U.S. history with a combined 50 career goals and assists and the 28th player to hit 25 career goals.

Sam Coffey, 26,earns her 39th career cap and makes her 29th career start. She started 19 games in 2024 after just two combined starts in 2022 (her debut year) and 2023. She scored her fourth career goal on July 2 vs. Canada.

Catarina Macario, 26, will earn her 26th career cap. Against Colombia on Feb. 20, 2025, she scored her first USWNT goal in 712 days and more recently hit double-digit goals. Her tenth came against her birth country, Brazil, in April and the 11th against China PR at the end of May.

Alyssa Thompson,20,will earn her 23rd cap. This will be her 12th career start. This is her first match for the USA since her high-profile transfer to Chelsea FC in the England Women’s Super League.

Emily Fox, 27, gets the start at right back where she’s been a stalwart for Arsenal FC this season and last, when she helped the Gunners with the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Fox will earn her 68th cap, passing Tierna Davidson and Natasha Kai to sit alone at 54th all-time in U.S. history. This is her 58th career start.
