Vallejos landed the greater volume and greater variety, mixing his targets and brandishing a little more force than his foe, taking advantage of Silva’s preference to throw one and showboat after slipping punches rather than unloading offense.
Just 23 years old, Vallejos is one of the most highly regarded prospects on the roster, and going through a tough battle like this is going to be a positive learning experience for him. Despite now being 16-1 as a professional, “El Chino” is still in the developmental phase of his career, but has all the markings of a future standout in the 145-pound weight class.
