The “Twilight” movies are heading back to theaters this fall in honor of the 20th anniversary of author Stephenie Meyer’s original hit book.
Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are partnering to re-release every “Twilight” movie in theaters nationwide this fall from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, in addition to other anniversary festivities. The original “Twilight” will arrive in theaters on Wednesday, Oct. 29; “New Moon” on Thursday, Oct. 30; “Eclipse” on Friday, Oct. 31; “Breaking Dawn — Part 1” on Saturday, Nov. 1; and “Breaking Dawn — Part 2” on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers will publish three special editions of “Twilight” — a hardcover deluxe collector’s edition, a paperback 20th anniversary version and a deluxe hardcover collection of the entire saga — on Sept. 30. The “Twilight Saga” YouTube channel has also been relaunched to share special clips and bonus content for fans.
There will be a “Forever Twilight in Forks” festival from Sept. 11 in Forks, Wash., featuring Meyers as the honored guest. The festival will have panels, themed parties, film screenings and more. Visitors can explore the beaches, rainforest and iconic locations from the books while they attend. There will also be a U.S. tour of “Twilight in Concert” from Sept. 12 to Nov. 30, featuring the film’s score in sync with the original movie presented in its entirety. Finally, fans can shop for new merchandise coming this fall from Lionsgate and other retailers, plus Warner Music Group is re-releasing the “Twilight,” “New Moon” and “Eclipse” soundtracks on Oct. 31.
Since the films released, the “Twilight Saga” has grossed more than $3.3 billion worldwide and made stars out of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Last year, it was revealed that Netflix will be releasing an animated version of “Midnight Sun,” a re-telling of “Twilight” from Edward Cullen’s (Pattinson) point of view.
