Trump “Seriously Considering” Pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs

Sean “Diddy” Combs already avoided a potential life prison sentence after being found not guilty of the most serious federal charges against him last month. Now, Deadline reports that Donald Trump is “seriously considering” pardoning him for the sex crimes he was convicted of.

The disgraced hip-hop mogul faces up to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution (he was found not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking). However, due to standard sentencing guidelines and time already served, legal experts expect him to receive a shorter sentence, likely in the range of 2 to 3 years.

But with his sentencing date set for October 3rd, Deadline reports that there’s “now a distinct possibility Combs may not see another day behind bars as Oval Office consideration of a [sic] pardon has grown in recent days.” Deadline also speculates that Trump’s consideration of a pardon is partially motivated by Trump’s attempts to shift attention away from the Jeffrey Epstein story.

Trump previously referred to Combs as a “good friend of mine” during a 2012 episode of Celebrity Apprentice and was also a regular attendee at his birthday parties.
