Triple H just pulled the curtain back on WWE’s deeper role in Mexico—and revealed that The Undertaker is more involved than anyone realized.
In a backstage video shared Sunday morning, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque gave fans a glimpse of what went down behind the scenes at AAA TripleManía XXXIII in Mexico City on August 16, 2025. The show, streamed globally via WWE’s official YouTube channels, marked a massive crossover moment—but Triple H says it’s just the beginning.
Reflecting on WWE’s strategy to help amplify lucha libre, he made it clear they weren’t just guests in AAA’s house—they’re here to build.
“You know, in sort of looking at the landscape of the wrestling world overall, there was a thought of places that we could amplify sort of what they do. One of the first and foremost markets that we thought of was Mexico. How can we help to grow what they do? How can we help to add to it…”
Then Triple H dropped a name no one expected—The Undertaker.
“If you’d have told me even 20 years ago that one of the big sort of driving forces behind AAA in Mexico would be The Undertaker, it would have been hard for me to sort of wrap my head around that.”
Sources close to the situation also noted that The Undertaker has been making regular trips to Mexico to stay hands-on with the product. While many fans associate him strictly with WWE’s darkest personas, his real-life role is now tied directly to helping shape the future of lucha libre.
Triple H also got personal, pointing out how surreal it is to be building this project with two of the men he respected most from his own era.
“Here I am again right now with the two guys I respected the most in my generation getting to do this right now. It’s an incredible feeling.”
As the footage continued, he made one thing clear—TripleManía isn’t a final destination.
“While sometimes an event like TripleManía can feel like the end of a run… this is really the start. This is day one.”
With The Undertaker quietly playing a major role behind the scenes and Triple H framing this as a true joint movement, the WWE–AAA partnership looks like more than a global stunt—it looks like a permanent power shift.
Does The Undertaker’s role surprise you? Could this be his next legacy run—behind the curtain instead of in the ring? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
