Triple H confirms Pat McAfee’s WWE return date while discussing ‘perfect’ deal with ESPN

WWE’s new deal with ESPN kicks off next month with the Wrestlepalooza PLE on September 20 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

If you suspected that WWE commentator Pat McAfee might be in the house for the event given his history with the host city, you’d be correct! McAfee took a break from his WWE job this summer after hitting a wall, but he’s back in WWE for at least this one event in September. Triple H confirmed the news during an interview on SportsCenter where he hyped up WWE’s “perfect partnership” with ESPN.

It’s like getting Christmas early now, right? The whole thing starts now. Nobody creates big events bigger than the WWE, and nobody presents them to fans better than ESPN, so this is the perfect partnership.

Yeah, it’s starting early. September 20th, Wrestlepalooza. In the home of the one and the only Pat McAfee, who’s like family to us. You know, Pat will be there. He’s gonna light the place up. It’s gonna be exciting.

Triple H also named a few top WWE stars who you can expect to see at Wrestlepalooza, which mostly lines up with the latest rumor about the double main event that WWE apparently has planned for the card.

You’re gonna get to see John Cena’s last time in Indianapolis with a big match. You’re gonna get to see all the stars. Seth Rollins, the WWE champion Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre. They’re all gonna be there. It’s gonna be an incredible night. The relationship just gets started at Wrestlepalooza on September 20th, because after that, we’re full guns blazing on ESPN. We are heading into Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia…

Do you agree with Triple H about ESPN being the perfect partner for WWE? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
