The wife of Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter was emotional while reflecting on being bullied online last year over her relationship with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Leanna Lenee shared a TikTok video of her crying in her bathroom that was initially captured in December, when she took a hiatus from social media due to public scrutiny over her relationship with Hunter.
“I wish I could go back and hug December me,” Lenee wrote with a teary-eyed emoji. “Because oh baby, God was about to change your heart in the most important and beautiful way.
“I don’t even recognize this girl anymore. The amount you can grown and develop in just 6 months of devoting your life to Jesus and getting away from the shackles of the world and social media is truly astounding. I wish the peace I found within Jesus on everyone who reads this. ❤️ Your identity in him matters, not how people choose to perceive you.”
The video showed an emotional Lenee crying and wiping away her tears while wrapped in a towel.
Although Lenee was talking in the video, it’s unclear what she said because there was a sound playing, which was a part of a sermon from T.D. Jakes, a motivational speaker, pastor and New York Times bestselling author.
“And when God gets ready to make you a great woman, you know he’s going to make you great by how you suffer,” Jakes said. “The greater the glory the more intense the story, because you can’t get this all out of a book.”
Lenee received supportive messages from fans, as well as Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese.
“So proud of you bby! The storm doesn’t last forever!” Reese wrote, adding a teary-eyed emoji and a prayer hands emoji,” Reese wrote.
Lenee replied, “Love u & thankful for your encouragement through it all xoxo,” with a pink heart emoji.
Lenee returned to social media around the time of her and Hunter’s wedding in May.
The couple faced criticism on many occasions, including when a video showed Colorado head coach Deion Sanders appearing to tell her to stand and applaud Hunter when he was announced as the Heisman Trophy winner in December 2024.
Lenee faced criticism from some who said she seem supportive of Hunter during the trophy ceremony.
Hunter later defended Lenee and said she was upset over the ridicule.
The former Colorado cornerback and wideout hybrid deactivated his social media amid the public scrutiny of Lenee, and the couple has remained private since then.
Lenee addressed the situation in a since-deleted TikTok video and explained things were taken out of context on multiple occasions.
The brunette beauty recently shared her experience at her first event with the other wives and girlfriends of Jaguars players.
Hunter purchased a $3.275 million home in the gated Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville days after the couple tied the knot in Tennessee on May 24, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.
The Jaguars open the 2025 season against the Carolina Panthers in Jacksonville on Sept. 7.
