Well, that was a great way to start off a new season and the new Frankenball era at Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs RAF Captain and former midfielder Scott Parker and newly promoted Burnley came to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and got their butts handed to them by a final score of 3-0. Richarlison, who started the match, had a brace including a stunner of a volleyed second goal, with both strikes assisted by Mohammed Kudus. Brennan Johnson added a third goal in the second half.
It had the feel of an early season match, which makes sense. The score belies a bit of some early struggles against the press, especially in the first half, but it’s hard to argue with the scoreline. And there were some quite good performances in this one.
