Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott‘s divorce has not been finalized even though she filed court documents in March 2024 — and their finances might be the reason why.
McDermott’s Sept. 5 court filing, obtained by Page Six, provides fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the former couple’s income. According to the 58-year-old actor’s income and expense report, Spelling’s monthly pay swings wildly between $3,000-$75,000, “depending on the job.”
He claimed that his monthly salary was $3,800 “due to the SAG/AFTRA strikes and change in the industry. My acting and producing work has decreased drastically,” per the document. He also noted that his expenses were currently higher than his income by $180. The media outlet also listed his extensive debts, including a $200,000 past-due City National Bank loan, credit card debts, and medical bills.

The court documents confirm that the estranged duo’s financial issues plagued their marriage for years. In January 2016, the 90210 star was hit with a lawsuit from American Express for failing to make payments on her almost $38,000 balance, and even bouncing a check with the bank for the one month she attempted to pay the bill. In 2018, Spelling and McDermott notoriously made it onto the top 500 delinquent California taxpayers list.
In November 2023, McDermott blamed Spelling’s mom, Candy, for not helping them out with their money situation, especially after her late dad, Aaron, only left her with an $800,000 inheritance.
“It’s your daughter,” McDermott told the Daily Mail. “It’s your flesh and blood, and it’s your grandbabies. And for someone who is so blessed to have so much, it would be really nice for her to share with her daughter.”
“As I have said to Candy, I don’t want any of it [for myself],” he continued. “I’m not interested. I would just like it if, as a mother, you would reach out and help your daughter and your son, Randy, who is a beautiful guy, he’s such an amazing man. He’s a life coach and doing wonderful things.”
Spelling and McDermott share five kids: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 13, Fin, 13, and Beau, 8. He also shares a son, Jack, 26, with his first wife, Mary Jo Eustace.
