A title change took place during tonight’s July 11 episode of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network, taking place in Nashville, Tennessee.
A busy weekend for WWE featuring the Great American Bash, Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution kicked off with SmackDown tonight.
The show played host to the crowning of new WWE Tag Team Champions, as Wyatt Sicks members Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy won the gold.
Lumis and Gacy defeated the Street Profits to win the championship in a rematch from a title match two weeks ago without a conclusive winner.
They won the match with a new double team finisher in the form of a combined Dexter Lumis suplex and Joe Gacy powerbomb.
This marks the first title win in WWE for both Lumis and Gacy during their times with the company, as neither of them held a championship in NXT, and hadn’t on the main roster either until tonight.
The Street Profits had been WWE Tag Team Champions for 115 days after they won the title from DIY in Madrid, Spain in March.
