This 2,031-HP American Hypercar Has Three Pedals And No Chill

Monterey Car Week is known for automotive excess, but Hennessey just raised the bar in a way that leaves even the wildest muscle cars looking tame. The Texas-based hypercar builder has unveiled a one-off Hennessey Venom F5 with a gated six-speed manual and a staggering 2,031 horsepower, which is nearly double the Dodge Demon 170’s record-shattering 1,025 hp. It’s a rare case where raw output meets analog engagement, and it’s designed for one very lucky owner.

Debuting at The Quail, the Venom F5 Revolution LF is the most expensive, complex, and highest-spec Hennessey ever built. Commissioned by American entrepreneur Louis Florey through the company’s new “Maverick” bespoke division, the car wears Cocoa Brown exposed carbon fiber, River Sand Metallic paint, and an interior filled with horology-grade switchgear.

Hennessey could have stuck with its standard automatic setup, but the LF’s mission was to connect driver and machine in the most visceral way possible. The all-new carbon tub makes room for a third pedal, while the floor-mounted machined aluminum pedal set and milled-aluminum H-pattern shifter deliver an old-school supercar feel. Even the parking brake is bolt-action in style: a mechanical flourish you won’t find in modern hypercars chasing touchscreens and haptic buttons.

The exterior previews elements from the upcoming Venom F5 Evolution, pairing the open-top Revolution configuration with a raft of aero updates. A taller rear wing, reshaped dive planes, and a revised rear deck work alongside the 6.6-liter twin-turbo “Fury” V8 to ensure stability at extreme speeds. And with nearly twice the Demon 170’s power on tap, “extreme” doesn’t quite cover it.

This build also serves as the launchpad for Hennessey’s Maverick division: a new program that allows a small number of clients to co-create their own one-off Venom F5s. Paint, carbon finishes, interiors, mechanical changes, even bodywork can be tailored to each customer’s vision. The LF will remain a 1-of-1, but its approach will influence future commissions.

Monterey also marked the public debut of the production Venom F5 Revolution Evolution: the world’s most powerful internal-combustion road car, which brings updated aero, suspension, and comfort upgrades to all future F5s. Current owners can retrofit the enhancements, but unless they secure a Maverick slot, none will get a 2,031-hp gated manual like the LF.

The American hypercar landscape has no shortage of outrageous numbers, but this Venom F5 proves there’s still room for personality, craftsmanship, and a little mechanical mischief. It’s a machine built to remind us that while technology marches forward, nothing matches the thrill of shifting your own gears. Hats off to Hennessey for making it a reality, even if most of us will never see it in the light of day.
