The Open 2025 leaderboard live updates: Golf scores, Open Championship coverage, Round 2 at Royal Portrush

Royal Portrush delivered plenty of obstacles for the best golfers in the world as The Open Championship commenced, and there should be no doubt the difficult lies and strong winds will continue across the next 54 holes in Northern Ireland. A five-way tie at the top is unlikely to remain once Round 2 of The Open concludes Friday, though it would not be surprising if many of the same names were atop the leaderboard.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Harris English are the most notable names being chased Friday, and there are plenty of heavy hitters just a few shots back of them looking to make a significant move. Scottie Scheffler leads the group sitting one back of the leaders, while Tom Kim, Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose are among 10 men just two behind. Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm top a 12-man group that’s three back. With only 31 men in red numbers to start the chase for the Claret Jug, a lot of movement is surely ahead entering the weekend.

With golf beginning early Friday morning in the United States and set to conclude in the late afternoon, you will not want to miss a moment whether you’re waking up, procrastinating at work or simply seeking an in-depth second-screen experience.
