‘The Morning Show’ Renewed For Season 5 At Apple

Apple is getting in early for another season of The Morning Show.

The drama series, which stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, has been renewed for Season 5. It comes ahead of Season 4 of the series, which launches tomorrow (Wednesday, September 17).

It’s not unusual for the streamer to hand the show an early renewal, last year Apple did the same thing.

Season 4 begins in spring 2024, almost two years after the events of season three. Per the logline: With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America.

Season four welcomes new cast members Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook and Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.

Aniston stars as Alex Levy, who was host of UBA’s morning show TMS and is now dealing with things from a new perch, and Witherspoon plays Bradley Jackson, who is back despite quitting her job and facing punishment over helping her brother hide his involvement on January 6.

Season 4 also features new cast members Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, who plays a Joe Rogen-esque podcaster, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons, who plays Aniston’s father.

As always, there’s scoops to be found, love interests to be made and family issues to be resolved.

Charlotte Stoudt serves as showrunner and she exec produces alongside director Mimi Leder, Aniston, Witherspoon, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Lauren Neustadter, Kristin Hahn, Zander Lehmann and Micah Schraft. The series is produced by Media Res.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+ called the series a “standout from the very start”. “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it not only entertain but also resonate with audiences worldwide,” he added.

Ellenberg added that this season gives the cast and crew “even more room to shine”. “We are so grateful to Apple TV+ and the fans around the world who tune in every week, and are so excited for viewers to see this upcoming season and beyond,” he added.
