Nintendo has revealed a new product in their partnership with Lego, that will bring back memories for long time Zelda fans.
First teased back in January, Nintendo has finally shown the Lego Game Boy, which is available to pre-order today for release in October 2025.
The set was revealed on Twitter, and the trailer emulates the original Game Boy trailer from the 1990s, and I won’t lie, it made me smile from ear to ear.
The fully built product will recreate the joy of holding a Game Boy and playing classic games like Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
In fact, it actually comes with Lego cartridges of each of those games, and features swappable screens to reflect the game that has been inserted.
Priced at $59.99, it’s actually one of the more affordable gaming sets out there, and it shouldn’t be too tricky to build at 421 pieces.
Lego’s Game Boy comes with a black, buildable stand to display the console in your collection, and you can choose whether to rep Mario or Zelda when you build it.
Nintendo’s first handheld console is considered an iconic piece of gaming history, and many fans fondly remember first playing a Mario game in the back of a car on a long journey, trying to see the screen in the sunlight.
It revolutionised the entire industry and sparked a wave of other publishers launching their own handheld consoles, such as the SEGA Game Gear and the Atari Lynx.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo and Lego have come together to release a set, with the last being the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Fans of The Legend of Zelda can get their hands on this very soon and proudly show off the best handheld Zelda game of all time. Yeah, I said it.
