Two days ago I put out a troll post about the Texas A&M Yell Leaders wearing black uniforms to coincide with the “blackout” theme at Kyle Field this Saturday night against Mississippi State. It was done mostly to drive Facebook commenters insane, because clearly at a place like A&M with a tradition as sacred as the Yell Leaders, this would never ever happen. So the joke was obvious.
But apparently the joke is not so obvious, because, well, this is really happening.
The Aggie Yell Leaders released a video on their social media channels on Friday revealing, that they are, in fact, wearing black uniforms this Saturday. You can’t even make this stuff up.
Honestly, they look really great. I love them leaning into this. The team and fans are wearing black, so why not the Yell Leaders too? But the fact that I accidentally predicted this will never not be hilarious.
