While fans are taking advantage of the new “decision day hat” feature in the College Football 26 video game, Tennessee commit J.B. Shabazz did so in real life on Friday evening.

He actually faked out Tennessee for a moment, too.

Surrounded by his friends and family at East Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, N.C., Shabazz had a decision to make and three hats on the table.

He first reached for the South Carolina hat, showing it to the audience.

He then picked up the Tennessee hat and almost put it on, but set it back on the table.

Shbazz then grabbed the Ohio State cap, the last of the bunch, but put it back down.

“I’m playin’, I’m playin’, Shabazz said with a laugh.

He then went back to the Tennessee hat and put it on, officially revealing his collegiate decision with the Volunteers.

More From RTI: Tennessee Football Lands Commitment From Four-Star Offensive Tackle Over SEC Rival

Shabazz’s commitment makes him the 21st prospect in the Vols’ 2026 class, which is at No. 13 in On3 Sports’ team rankings.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle is ranked as a four-star prospect according to On3 Sports’ Industry rankings.

“Hulking offensive line prospect with Grade A features on a frame that’s pushing 6-foot-6,” 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins wrote about Shabazz in a July evaluation. “Projects as a swing tackle at the Power Four level with a rather promising profile given the length (34+ inch arms) and hoops background.”
