Over the weekend, I managed to get all three of my characters to 400 power in Destiny 2 after a lengthy climb that has now rewarded me with infinite Tier 5 Solstice weapons, in addition to making all my other drops Tier 4 from now on.
I’ve seen some questions about how I did it, and I thought I would assemble some helpful tips to boost players along! Let’s go:
1) Familiarize yourself with a Solo Op called “Caldera.” You run around Kepler, blow up cubes or Fallen buildings, the run to go kill a boss.
2) Familiarize yourself with a Solo Op called “K1 Logistics.” You run around the moon blowing up Hive gunk or turning on consoles, then run to go kill a boss.
3) Both of these can take anywhere from 3-5 minutes. Run them 200-300 times. You will get drops more quickly than any other Solo Op, Fireteam Op, Pinnacle Op or Crucible Op activity. Get those runs down to a science! Remember, running anything else is wasting valuable time.
4) Take a break when the rocket pulse rifle, Mint Retrograde, appears in Pinnacle Ops as a focused weapon. Get one. The roll or Tier doesn’t matter, it functions like a heavy weapon that uses special ammo. You can use it to both one-shot cubes and gunk and things in Caldera and K1. You can use it to kill all bosses more efficiently than almost any heavy or super with halfway decent ammo.

5) Hitting champions in Master? You don’t ever need to ever kill them, run around them. Grandmaster? They double the champions! Still, continue to run around them.
6) Stats don’t matter. If you pick the right modifiers and throw on any amount of appropriate defense for your run (arc resist! sniper resist!) you’ll be fine. Do your stats later, except just don’t do health until it gets buffed, which it will.
7) For modifiers use Locked Loadout which gives you a billion challenge points even though there is never a situation where you need to change your loadout. Pick a few other modifiers like any Bane that isn’t Screeb or random things like invisible enemies, where there will be like five total invisible enemies on the map, or ground fire/pools which you simply do not step on.
8) You only need to get to an early-mid B+ rating, not A, as for whatever reason this projection system does not calculate a bunch of other bonuses. Use almost all New Gear, beat the timer, do the objective, the end. Go to orbit if it’s precision kills then come back.
9) Don’t infuse anything but what you’re wearing if you’re trying to get things up from 10 or 200 power. Trying to experiment with fun builds will cost too many cores and you will be broke.
10) Avoid inefficient activities. Pinnacle Ops? Pass. Raids? Too long. Trials of Osiris? Exhausting. Solo Ops or bust. Specifically two Solo Ops or bust.
