Ari Gibson, co-lead over at Team Cherry, has discussed the price of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Ultimately, the team feels that it’s “reasonable”.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will set you back just $20. In this day and age, that’s quite a bargain. We’ve only seen game prices continually rise, yet Silksong is relatively cheap – especially if you consider the amount of content it includes.
In ACMI’s paperback guide, Gibson was speaking about Team Cherry’s decision to make Hollow Knight: Silksong its own game rather than DLC for the original. He said: “…we try to price the games at a reasonable level for people, and we have quite a habit of expanding the content to be quite large.” Gibson added it was “inevitable” how “it would get to a point where the value of what we make would warrant being recognized as a single title.”
Hollow Knight: Silksong is available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Another point in the game’s favor is the Upgrade Pack. A number of companies are asking for consumers to pay up for Upgrade Packs, but in Silksong’s case, it’s free.
