Swift, 35, is no stranger to dominating the Spotify charts. In 2024, she was named Spotify’s global top artist for the second year in a row with more than 26.6 billion streams. She also had the top-streamed album of 2024 with The Tortured Poets Department.

Her 2019 song “Cruel Summer” also made the top 10 most-streamed songs globally list at no. 9.

“Top Streamed Artist AND Album on @spotify this year?! You guys are unbelievable,” Swift wrote on her Instagram Stories in December upon hearing the news. “What an amazing thing to find out going into our last weekend of eras shows 💋 THANK YOU!”

The “So High School” singer announced her 12th album during her debut appearance on now-fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce‘s podcast New Heights.

Swift revealed the album cover and tracklist, which includes songs titled “Elizabeth Taylor,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Actually Romantic” and the title track “The Life of a Showgirl” featuring Sabrina Carpenter.

“This album is about what was going on behind my scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” Swift said of the album, which she worked on in between Eras Tour stops.

“I’m so proud of it, and it just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. That effervescence has come through on this record.”

She also spoke about the visuals for the album cover, which features Swift partially submerged in a dazzling ensemble, along with mint green and shimmery orange visuals.

“My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress,” Swift said. “I wanted to sort of, like, glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt, and that’s how that felt to be at the end of the night when all this has gone down.”
