Taylor Swift Shows Off Metallic Green Manicure With Engagement Ring

  • Taylor Swift wore a metallic green manicure while debuting her engagement ring at a college football game at Arrowhead Stadium.
  • The maximalist manicure came after she wore “soap nails” to announce her engagement on Instagram.
  • Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in coordinated Ralph Lauren outfits in a flower-filled post on August 26.

As Swifties know all too well, Taylor Swift rarely does anything without working in a few sneaky Easter eggs for her fans—and that includes her nails. After rocking an ultra-minimalist, barely-there manicure while debuting her ring in her recent engagement announcement post with Travis Kelce, the singer opted for a much more maximalist style to show off the ring at its first public outing.

Swift and Kelce appeared together on August 28 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to watch Kelce’s old college team, the Cincinnati Bearcats, take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Swift served collegiate vibes wearing a pleated denim miniskirt paired with a white cable knit vest and knee-high nude boots. She added an unexpected pop of color with her bright, metallic green manicure, which marked a bold departure from the clean girl look she sported in her engagement post.

What could her unexpected neon green manicure mean? Is it an Easter egg for her upcoming The Last Showgirl album? After all, the colors on the album cover are orange and a bright teal blue-green shade. Or perhaps the green is a subtle nod to her Reputation era. Or maybe, Swift simply wanted to switch things up after trying out the elegant ‘soap nails’ trend for her engagement announcement.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement with a post captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨” which saw them wearing coordinating Ralph Lauren looks while posing together under a beautiful floral display.

According to expert and florist Ashley Greer who spoke to People, Kelce proposed with at least 2,000 flowers: willow, ivy, and rose specifically, which are all mentioned in her songs.
