One of the great mysteries of the Eras Tour remains: how did Taylor Swift pull it off? What was she eating to fuel her body ahead of back-to-back three-and-a-half hour shows? Was there some special cocktail of vitamins involved? And how’d she recover afterwards? Well, it sounds like we’re about to get some answers. On Monday, Swift announced on Good Morning America that she’s releasing a docuseries about the tour, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how it all happened. The first two episodes of the six-part series, called “The End of an Era,” come out December 12 on Disney+.
Also premiering December 12: a new concert film. Though Swift already released an Eras Tour movie in 2023, this one will be of the tour’s final show in Vancouver on Dec. 8, 2023, and will feature songs from The Tortured Poets Department, which hadn’t been released when the first film came out.
The trailer for the docuseries, which dropped Monday, gives some hints as to what we’ll see in the series. There are shots of Swift getting her makeup done, working out, and rehearsing with her dancers. We catch a glimpse of her tour wardrobe on a clothing rack, and even seemingly get a look into her surprise song selection process (which appears to include color-coded sticky notes). There are plenty of cameos, including from Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, and Gracie Abrams ahead of their appearances during the tour, as well as of Travis Kelce practicing for his onstage debut. We also see Swift’s parents, and of course, her cats.
At the end of the trailer, Swift shares a bit of her post-show routine, removing her false lashes as she draws herself a bath. “I’ll not be able to get to sleep because I can’t, like, come down,” she said. “I’ll watch tons of TV, I have room service in bed, I signed a box of 2000 CDs, and then I’m tired. And then we do the whole thing again.” I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
