Palaeomagnetic analysis Oriented block samples of approximately 10 × 10 × 10 cm3 each were carved with a sharp non-magnetic knife from fresh excavation baulks (samples Sp1 and Sp2) or from field exposures for palaeomagnetic analysis (Sp3–Sp14).
