Syracuse, N.Y. ― Syracuse freshman Sadiq White, who missed the Orange’s exhibition game against Buffalo on Saturday with an upper-body injury, is set to play tonight against Pace.
However, Syracuse coach Adrian Autry’s Orange will be without another freshman in the exhibition game at the JMA Wireless Dome on Wednesday.
Luke Fennell, a 6-foot-6 freshman guard, will sit out Syracuse’s second and final exhibition with a lower-body injury, according to SU director of athletic communications Pete Moore.
Fennell, a native of Australia, played both guard positions and small forward during Saturday’s exhibition against Buffalo. Fennell didn’t score, but he had two rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes in the 76-66 win over the Bulls.
With Fennell sidelined, Autry will could go to starting shooting guard JJ Starling or transfer Bryce Zephir as the back-ups to starting point guard Naithan George.
Meanwhile, White will make his Orange debut on Wednesday. The 6-foot-8 freshman from Charlotte, N.C., is an athletic option at both forward spots.
