Sydney Sweeney has been booked and busy this week and has been out every night—from a red carpet in Savannah, Georgia on October 27 to the World Series game four in L.A. on October 28 to last night’s glamorous appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event.

Gone were the jean shorts, baseball jersey, and cowboy boots of Tuesday night and in was a silver gown that left little to the imagination at the October 29 event, which also drew stars like Kate Hudson, Jane Fonda, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Eva Longoria. Sweeney stunned in a naked chainmail dress by Christian Cowan, her freshly debuted bob on display and little else in the way of accessories, leaving her dress to do the talking.

Sweeney is promoting her upcoming film Christy, a biopic out November 7 where she plays boxer Christy Martin. Speaking onstage on Wednesday night, Sweeney spoke about “the power to rise and to fight and to keep believing in yourself, even when no one else does.”
“Every one of us has our own fight,” Sweeney continued. Acknowledging Martin, she added, “Christy reminds us strength doesn’t have to look loud sometimes, it’s just about getting up again and again no matter who is watching. Playing her taught me it isn’t the end of the story, it’s about reclaiming it. And to every young girl out there—I hope that you know your power is already within you.”

Speaking to Variety earlier this week, Sweeney told the outlet, “I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t. So when people think, ‘Ah, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s leaning into that,’ I’m like, ‘No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.’”
“I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good, because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room,” she added.

Up next for Sweeney this week? Filming her last two days of Euphoria season three, which she’s doing on October 30 and November 2, per Variety. “It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment,” Sweeney said last night. “I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be.”
