The latest addition to the SNES Classics collection for Switch and Switch 2 is Mario Paint, which came to the service last night. Turns out that title also brought with it an update to a specific filter for Switch 2 players, and it makes quite a difference.
Switch 2 players who spent time with the SNES Classics collection yesterday and today have noticed that the CRT filter has received a considerable update. This update aims to make SNES games look much closer to what they did back on the actual hardware, which people were playing on traditional CRT monitors/TVs.
If you’re looking for a SNES experience that at least mimics what games looked like back in the early-to-mid 90s, you might want to give the updated CRT filter a shot on Switch 2. The option was decent before, but whatever magic Nintendo has worked recently seems to have made the filter considerably better.
