Suspect Found Dead At His Home After 2 Are Killed At Cleveland Plastics Plant

A man who police say shot and killed two fellow employees at a plastics plant in Cleveland has taken his own life.

Police had surrounded the suspect’s home on Samples Chapel Road. He was later found dead inside.

The victims were identified as Tobias Gleinig and Ivan Aldergot, the company vice president.

Cleveland Police said, “On Monday at approximately 10:21 a.m., officers from the Cleveland Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at Barku Plastics, located at 131 Corporate Drive SW.

“Investigators identified a possible suspect who fled the scene in a vehicle. That vehicle was later located at a residence in Bradley County, outside the Cleveland city limits.

“After several hours of a coordinated tactical operation, law enforcement utilized a robot and drone to make entry into the residence. Inside, officers located one deceased male in a bedroom, believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“We are awaiting confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the suspect.”

The Cleveland Police Department is working closely with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and other partnering agencies as the investigation continues.
