Dean Cain has alleged that he was a victim of sexual harassment while starring as Superman in the ’90s series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.”
In a new interview with Variety, the actor, now 58, said he “could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history.”
Cain refused to name the person he claimed had harassed him on set and declined to share any further details.
Cain starred as the cape-sporting superhero in the fantasy series from 1993 to 1997 alongside actress Teri Hatcher, who portrayed love interest Lois Lane.
Variety noted in the interview that “there were always murmurs” of alleged suspicious activities happening on set. The outlet alluded to that being the rumored reason behind the show’s abrupt ending after Season 4, especially considering Cain had already written scripts for Season 5 at the time of the show’s cancellation.
Variety went on to reveal that the “harassment took its toll on [Cain’s] relationship at the time with volleyball star Gabrielle Reece.” Cain and Reece started dating in 1992. Reece later married surfer Laird Hamilton in 1997.
Reps for Cain and Warner Bros., who produced “Lois & Clark,” didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s requests for comment.

Elsewhere in the interview published Tuesday, the former “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” host opened up about another aspect of his role that he said could’ve led him to take legal action — being lowballed financially.
“I didn’t know enough back then about residuals. Warner Bros. buries the bodies deep and makes it look like it’s lost money. There’s no possible way,” Cain shared of his “Lois & Clark” pay. “But I should have sued. George Clooney did it. He sued on ‘ER’ and got a big payout for his participation. I was advised not to because ‘You don’t want to bite the hand that feeds you.’”
