Subject of AMBER Alert found dead, police say 9-year-old was not abducted

TICONDEROGA, NY (WKRC) – A 9-year-old girl was found dead after an AMBER Alert was issued but police now believe she was never abducted.

On Saturday, Luciano Frattolin called 911 to say his daughter Melina had been abducted in Lake George, New York. The pair was from Canada.

A search was launched but law enforcement identified inconsistencies in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided.

Several law enforcement agencies searched for Melina and they found her dead in Ticonderoga, New York.

Police say there is no indication that an abduction occurred. They have not said anything about charging the father yet.
