Raheem Sterling’s career has gone downhill over the years, but a move to West Ham could be what he needs.
Graham Potter will be well aware of the need for his West Ham side to bolster their attack this summer, having lost Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham.
The Irons have been linked with several targets, and the latest concerns former Liverpool star Sterling, who has not had the best of times in recent years.
Since leaving Man City back in 2022, Sterling has found it difficult to impress at Chelsea or Arsenal, and a move lower down the Premier League could be on the cards.

Potter had Sterling at Chelsea
Albeit in a rather unfruitful spell, Potter spent time with Sterling at Chelsea, and he was often full of praise for the English international.
Now, according to talkSPORT (5 August), the Hammers are eying a move to reunite the pair this summer, with Chelsea open to a loan move.
- Broke into Liverpool’s first team aged 17
- Went on to make 129 appearances for the Reds, scoring 23 goals
- Big-money move to Man City in 2015
- 131 goals in 339 appearances
Sterling is said to want to remain in London if he is to leave the Blues, with Fulham and Crystal Palace also linked with a deal.
The 30-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Arsenal, where he registered six goal contributions in 28 appearances, though only two of those arrived in the Premier League.

Sterling could be perfect for West Ham
While he may have lost his way a little bit over the years, Sterling still has a lot to offer, especially to a team in the position that the Irons find themselves in.
That quality is still there, and a move to a side where there is less immediate pressure to deliver could unlock that once again.
His wages could be an issue unless Chelsea opt to subsidise them, but this is a deal that the Hammers should be looking into.
