This week, fans were left feeling shocked and bewildered after reports emerged claiming that Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson had faked their relationship for publicity.
Pam and Liam met while working on the 2025 comedy The Naked Gun and sparked dating speculation at the film’s New York premiere in July. While Pamela initially brushed off dating rumors, describing their relationship as simply “professionally romantic,” a source later told People that they were, in fact, in the early stages of “a budding romance.”
“It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other,” the source said, adding that the two were “enjoying each other’s company” on the film’s press run.
Citing purported sources with direct knowledge, the outlet claimed that the relationship was orchestrated by Pam and Liam’s publicists, along with production studio Paramount, to drum up interest for The Naked Gun.
“In fact, we’re told Pamela and Liam didn’t even see each other from the time cameras stopped rolling in June 2024 until the press tour launched more than a year later, in July 2025,” TMZ reported.
The article also went on to suggest that Pam’s claims of baking for Liam were untrue and that she and Liam never even had “one-on-one dinners” together.
While Pam and Liam haven’t publicly responded to the claims, multiple sources have denied the rumors to People.
One source close to the movie said, “Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt. They have a great time. Neither of them needs the publicity.”
Another stated, “Their relationship isn’t just for show. They have a real connection. There’s no incentive for either of them to stage something like this.”
And as far as the claim that Liam and Pam have never gone on an actual date, one source called that purely “ridiculous.”
We’ve reached out to Pam and Liam to see if they have any direct comments on this, too. We’ll let you know if we hear back.
