Fever guard Sophie Cunningham will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a right knee injury in Sunday’s overtime win over the Sun, the team announced Wednesday.
Cunningham, who sustained the season-ending injury in the second quarter of the game, is expected to make a full recovery.
The Fever did not disclose a specific diagnosis.
The IndyStar reported that Cunningham suffered an MCL tear in her right knee.
The Fever signed six-year veteran guard Shey Peddy to a seven-day hardship contract and released guard Kyra Lambert in a corresponding move.

Cunningham, 29, was writhing in pain while holding her knee after she collided with Sun guard Bria Harley.
Cunningham, who celebrated her 29th birthday on Saturday, thanked fans “for the birthday wishes and the prayers” in a post on X.
She also reposted the Fever’s announcement about the Peddy signing.
It came after the Fever lost guards Sydney Colson (torn left ACL) and Aari McDonald (broken right foot bone) to season-ending injuries on Aug. 8.
Fever head coach Stephanie White said Sunday that she hopes Clark will be able to return to the action before the end of the regular season.
The Fever acquired Cunningham and the No. 19 selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft from the Mercury in the offseason.
Phoenix selected Cunningham out of Missouri with the 13th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 draft.
