A series of job posts by Sony Interactive Entertainment sparked widespread speculation over the weekend that it was planning multiformat ports of major franchises, but respected insider Shinobi602 has moved to temper expectations by stating they’re related to small-scale titles and live service games.

While a lot of people have speculated that major Sony franchises such as Horizon Zero Dawn and other such heavyweights could conceivably see the light of day on Xbox or Nintendo formats, Shinobi602 agreed with the following sentiment posted by another user:

I still think it’s probably safe to assume Sony thawing a bit on hard line exclusivity. GAAS games coming later to xbox if they make sense. More stuff like Lego Horizon, smaller spin offs games can come to Switch, etc

Microsoft has recently adopted a multiplatform strategy that has seen numerous Xbox-exclusive titles find their way to other formats, beginning last year with the likes of Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves. Back in April, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 made their PS5 debut, and in August Gears of War Reloaded is also coming to Sony’s console.

According to a recent report on The Game Business, Microsoft is poised to reveal the next wave of titles coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch in the near future.
