Some Pixel 10 users are plagued with screen issues

Pixel phones get a lot of love, but the reality is they aren’t without their faults — just like any other phone. Quality control used to be pretty bad, but things have gotten much better in the past couple of years, with the brand making significant improvements. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t see interesting issues pop up occasionally, which appears to be the case for the Pixel 10.

Android Authority is reporting that some Pixel 10 users are seeing colorful snow on their screens, which, as you can imagine, isn’t a good thing. If this sounds familiar, this was a pretty big deal with the Pixel 5, and is also an issue that popped up with some Pixel 7 users as well. As of now, it’s unclear what’s causing this issue, and we’re just hoping that it’s going to be a software problem that can be fixed.

Not something you want to see on a brand-new phone

While not totally related, other users on the Pixel subreddit are reporting similar issues with the screen, with random bars of colors appearing on the display. Per the report from Android Authority, the phones still seem to be responsive, but it is causing some alarm, especially considering that these retail units have only been out in the wild for a few days at this point.

For the time being, it appears that Google is already looking into what’s going on, so there’s a good chance we’ll have an official statement soon. If it is a hardware issue, this could be a pretty big blow for Google, especially when the Pixel is just picking up its momentum. If you’re experiencing something like this with your Pixel, it’s probably a good idea to reach out to Google support and to see what options are currently available.

Of course, since this phone has been out for less than a week, the easy solution for most people is going to be to return or exchange it for a new model. That might not fix the problem if it’s a software issue, but if you swap it out and don’t see the issue, it could provide some peace of mind. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
